emiGO is a project undertaken by EMC Barcelona in January 2022 as part of its R&D strategy to develop to develop its own innovative technology in the field of EMC.
The emiGO Project aims to develop innovative technological solutions for measuring and mitigating electromagnetic interference using time-domain techniques. These solutions will combine software and methods specifically created and optimised to use general-purpose instrumentation in evaluating conducted and radiated electromagnetic disturbances, allowing great versatility, efficiency and effectiveness compared to pre-existing technologies on the market.
Our solutions from this project go beyond state of the art and have required R&D to achieve the proposed innovation goals, providing a differential value that translates into versatility, efficiency, effectiveness and lower economic cost than equivalent pre-existing technologies in the market.
The emiGO project has had an important impact, leading EMC Barcelona to undertake other projects where its use has proven to be key and significant to continue advancing in this line of research.
This project aims to contribute to the development of CISPR 37 and the revision of CISPR 11 and CISPR 16 through new electromagnetic emissions test methods for harsh environments, fully traceable time-domain measurement techniques, new calibration methods for the response to pulses of receivers and the statistical evaluation of interferences in compliance assessments. The project (21NRM06 EMC-STD) has received funding from the European Partnership on Metrology, co-financed from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme and by the Participating States. This a joint research project involving nine beneficiaries.
The “Metrology for Multi-domain Electromagnetic Interference Measurements” project is framed within the Industrial Doctorate program and bridges the gap between the emiGO project and the EMC-STD project. It has an academic orientation, and it’s associated with a junior researcher joining the UPC doctoral program.
The project “Agile Multi-domain Evaluation of Electromagnetic Interferences for Space Application,” under a spin-in approach, is aimed to overcome complex EMI problems and meet demanding standards and mission requirements. This project is framed within the incubation program of ESA BIC Barcelona, and with its completion, it is expected to enable stakeholders in the aerospace sector with the ability to assess their EMC problems in all phases of product development in an agile, affordable, and reliable way and to offer solutions for EMC testing addressed to SMEs in the New Space ecosystem
“El desarrollo del software emiGO fue subvencionado por el CDTI en el marco del programa NEOTEC-CDTI de la convocatoria 2021 (SNEO-20211223), apoyado por el MINISTERIO DE CIENCIA E INNOVACIÓN – Financiado por la Unión Europera-Next Generation EU”.
